Faces of the Chamber is a photo series showcasing the membership of the Ottumwa Area Chamber of Commerce. The series is part of a larger collaboration between multiple city organizations to create an updated repository of photographs for commercial use. Inspired by the "Humans of New York" series, Faces of the Chamber is designed for social media with weekly releases of three photographs from each subject, accompanied by a quote. In addition to increased engagement and organic reach on social media, the added publicity has provided new incentives for membership in the organization.
I believe that the chamber isn't made up of storefronts and facades: it's made up of people. The hard working, dedicated, risk takers who dare to challenge the uncertainty of an unforgiving economy to pursue their passions, their dreams, and fill our community with pride. From lifelong craftsmen in a technologically saturated industry to first time business owners, Faces of the Chamber seeks to discover what makes a small-town community so uniquely-Iowan... the people.
