Standing out from competitors in a crowded market can always be difficult, especially in the business of banking. After speaking with the executives from South Ottumwa Savings Bank, it was clear they were in want of some fresh, new ideas to help their branding and image as more than just a bank. As an institution, SOSB already supports the community in a variety of ways; by showcasing the efforts and the attitudes of the employees, it became strikingly clear that SOSB cultivates an environment of community support internally as well. The "Good Cause Committee" was featured in the video below.
Following the Good Cause Committee video, work began on a series of 3 online banking tutorial videos. These walkthroughs are designed to not only offer support to customers, but also as a resource for many of the SOSB staff. The videos follow a progression from completing basic tasks like setting up the account and transferring money, to more advanced applications like using the Bill Pay program and altering security settings. The mobile banking video showcases their new app; which provides the same convenience and security from the desktop, right on their customers' mobile devices. These videos showcase complex work utilizing motion tracking, layering, masking, and other complex animation effects.
With their growing Spanish-speaking customer base, a series of tutorial videos were also produced with Spanish titles and narration.
