Following recent staff hires and facility upgrades, Willis Dady Emergency Shelter in Cedar Rapids was in need of some updated photographs for their website and physical brochures. Some photos, like the exterior and interior shots, have been used on multiple publications and promotional materials for various community events and fundraisers. Rather than purchasing stock images from an online source, Willis Dady wanted to add a personal touch to their publications. Photographs of their own staff, clients, and paperwork give their products an authentic and honest feel. Work is currently under way on another round of photographs for the organization.
When preparing for their 1st annual craft beer fundraiser, the team at Willis Dady knew that marketing on social media would be important to get the word out. But, with so many beer-tasting events popping up all over the region, they needed a way to really stand out from the crowd. Not only is Hops for Housing one of the only beer-tasting events geared toward combatting homelessness in the country, it also featured beers from across the United States. To showcase this variety, I worked with the team at Willis Dady to develop the GIF animation; not only showcasing the variety of beers, but also creating something that was engaging for the breweries and patrons alike. Along with developing a billboard graphic, providing a logo animation helped solidify their online social media efforts. Willis Dady was proud to sell out of their tickets for the event, and is currently planning the 2nd annual Hops for Housing this coming April.
