Embarking on their fifth European tour, the University of Northern Iowa Wind Symphony is headed to northern Italy. For many of the musicians of the renowned collegiate music ensemble, this would be their first time overseas. From performances in spectacular basilicas to conducting seminars with some of Italy's best conductors, Bravi! The Italian Tour takes an in-depth look at the trip of a lifetime - ten Italian cities in just over a week. Amongst the delicious food, stunning architecture, and thunderous crowds, the students discover the emotional bond between themselves, their conductor, and their music. When introduced to a non-english speaking conductor at their conducting seminar, the ensemble experiences first hand the communicative and emotional power of music that transcends all other languages.
This is the story of friendship and hospitality, of adventure and performance, and the unifying power of music.
